San Antonio Skate Park Association

The San Antonio Skatepark Association has been actively working with the City of San Antonio since 1998 in developing free public skateparks. In 2004, our organization achieved 501c3 nonprofit status as a subchapter of Skaters for Public Skateparks.

Currently, the city has ten public skateparks with a newly completed facility at Martinez Park. In 2006, the skaters and parents organized to get more funding through the 2007 Bond. In May of 2007 the bond passed and skaters received funding for three more skateparks. These facilities will be completed in 2010.

On top of that, The San Antonio Skatepark Association is actively involved in fundraising efforts to enhance and improve our existing skateparks. We like to consider these "Community Build Projects" where we raise the money and work with a contractor to add upgrades to our local parks. Please view the pictures below...

Skateparks contractor Doug King and crew help us install rails and build new concrete ledges at Springtime Park in 2006.

Lee Brooks, Steve Kessler and volunteers help build a new ledge at San Pedro Springs Park in 2008.

SPA Skateparks helps us with our 2008 quarterpipe build at Ladybird Johnson Skatepark.

We are raising money right now for a new pyramid at LBJ. To make a donation email me at sk8schertz@yahoo.com
