The 2012 Bond ProgramMost of the public skateparks in San Antonio have been funded through a bond program. Basically, the city forms a committee and the committee decides on which projects to be funded. About every five years the citizens get to vote on a bond package and it funds projects such as drainage, park improvements, streets, etc. To learn more about the 2012-2017 bond program click here.
So far, the Parks Committee has recommended four future sites for future skateparks in San Antonio. Please note that these are simply recommendations at this point and these projects have not been funded. You can learn more about the recommended projects here.
- Copernicus Park includes general park improvements, a parking lot and a skatepark for $200,000.
- Nani Falcone includes general park improvements and an addition to the existing skatepark for $200,000.
